Caution children playing with Bowie.

Mock ups for the Sennheiser Sound Experience, supporting the 'Bowie is' exhibit,
September 25 – November 27 at the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Pages 1 and 2 have changed...

Hope all you interviewers of Art Directors like them. I have two budgerigars, so together with my previous experience catching and tagging fairy penguins, I feel licensed to say I'm a bird wrangler. I won't add it to my LINKEDIN profile though - due to the trend of people giving themselves ridiculously inflated titles on there.

Naked without your youthful optimism.

This is an edit I cut myself for BULA,
following the "Naked without my Bula" campaign shoot.

Not a lot of people drink Drambuie any more
some people don’t even know what it is.

We went out and did some taste tests,
to find out what they thought of it.

One week and 100,000 views later:
we had National newspaper, current affair TV,
MSN, Google and YouTube propagation.

While another six months later
we were fortunate enough to be
recognised by our friends at D&AD
and granted a position in their annual.

That is to say - this one.

"Say hello to my little friend." Part II

This Polaroid photography session was completely spontaneous and therefore perfect for the medium. As is the case since about 2005; the film we had was so old it almost refused to develop, and it was some 8 shots in that Mr Meat appeared - sitting so snappily dressed, amongst the brown matt that proceeded him.

Made in collaboration with a legendary girl - known to a select few as 'the Clash playing hair dresser coat-check bandit.'

Snoop Dogg and Terry Richardson crash my little FFFFound party.

- true story -

Today just seemed like any other ordinary day.
Then suddenly, right next to some children playing,
I saw Terry shoot Snoop for Vice.

^ Nice to have ZAP on board too.

Going ape on a brief.

The term guerrilla marketing is easily traced to guerrilla warfare which utilizes atypical tactics to achieve a goal in a competitive and unforgiving environment. This piece, designed to be placed anywhere there is a line up, spoke to Telstra's NEXT G high-speed broadband service.

Oli passes, Paterson shoots, we scores.

BULA is a European and North American ski hat and accessorie brand, they'd lost relevance with their target market and were floundering. These ads were for North America ski-press, which is full of blue and white ski photos and as you'd imagine, the green really popped - not to mention Mr Ball's patented; naked youthful enthusiasm. They certainly struck a cord with some people, most notably POWDER Magazine (the Vogue of skiing) who asked us if we'd like their (much coveted) back page.
Virtual high-five baby Bula is back.

Before and After: NOMIS

Dated BC snowboard brand NOMIS, takes a teaspoon of cement and hardens up in the Big Apple, finding the new season palette in and around Soho and the High Line all shot by Gordon Ball. My mate Oli is in there now, re-designing their line, evolving their product and the brand for the better.

"Say hello to my little friend."

I use my little arrow curser friend here in presentations, mostly to denote interactive actions. Sometimes when he presents points he gets a bit cheeky, but I keep my eye on him.

Interesting use of the curser for a crowd sourcing video here.
